Overview
This editorial series explores publication design through three distinct magazine concepts: an abstract black-and-white skateboarding publication, a Norway-focused travel magazine, and a self-help editorial spread. Each piece approaches layout, typography, and imagery differently, demonstrating versatility while maintaining strong visual hierarchy and readability across varying content types.
Editorial design requires balancing visual expression with clear communication, especially across different subject matters and tones. The challenge was to create unique layouts for each concept while maintaining strong typographic systems, grid structure, and cohesion within each spread.
Each magazine concept was developed with its own visual language, tailored to its content and audience. The skateboard spread emphasizes experimental composition and high-contrast imagery, the Norway travel spreads focus on clarity and immersive visuals, and the self-help layout prioritizes readability and structured hierarchy. Consistent use of grids and typographic systems ensures each design remains functional and engaging.
The final series demonstrates a range of editorial design approaches, showcasing the ability to adapt layout, typography, and visual tone across different contexts. Together, the projects highlight both creative exploration and technical control, reinforcing a strong foundation in publication design.
